Do you
have to be Mennonite to live or work at Fairview?
Fairview continues to attract a church based population.
We welcome people from all faiths and walks of life.
Are
subsidies available for persons living at Fairview?
In the Long Term Care Home, 40% of the beds can be
subsidized according to the income of the Resident. To apply for a
subsidized Long Term Care bed, families need to specify the need for
Basic Accommodation on application with Community Care Access Centre and
then on admission the monthly fee will be determined according to the
Notice of Assessment. Both the Fairview
Apartments and Preston School Apartments offer rent geared to income
rentals for approximately 25% of the tenants. Application is made
through Fairview Mennonite Home and Waterloo Region Community Housing.
As a continuing care retirement community, can you move to levels of
greater care as required? Since the Long
Term Care Reform Act of 1995, all admission to Long Term Care is through
the Community Care Access Centre. What that means for a continuum of
care facility like Fairview is that we can no longer promise that our
independent residents will have a priority when they need long term care. We can however, prioritize the move from independent living
(apartments or villas) to assisted living (Fairview Suites).
How long is your waiting list?
We feel privileged to have many people waiting to live at
Fairview. The wait lists vary according to building and type of
accommodation. It is best to apply several years early, for both
independent and assisted living so that you have a choice when you are
ready to move. |
